I vote for my dad because he was everything a person should be. He was a kind hearted and genuine person. He was a heck of a ball player from what I hear, as well. I love him more than he ever knew.
I played football and baseball with Tommy and beyond his talents on the field, I am much more thankful for the opportunity to become his friend that playing on the same team provided. I was a couple of years older than Tommy, and probably wouldn't have wound up hangin' out with him otherwise. What a shame that would have been. Tommy had a infectious optimism about life that made him a perfect teammate and friend. I always looked for Tommy at the AHS football games after we graduated because I knew I'd get a sincerely warm greeting and a great analysis of that year's team. Rest in peace, my friend.
Tommy Hopper was an amazing dad to me. He was my dad, best friend, and a person you could always rely on. He always smiles and makes people around him feel better about them self. I never knew anyone that anything bad to say about my dad. This world has definitely experienced a huge loss. He would be the perfect candidate for the hall of fame.--Erick Hopper, Math Department, Coosa High School, Girl's Soccer Coach
